3nd Learning Teaching and Training Activities

The 3nd Training, Learning and Teaching Activity for Teachers, had been scheduled to take place in Portugal on September 2020, but due to coronavirus wave was postponed

As we decided at the 3nd transnational online meeting to develop curricula 3 for all of the three disciplines during the karantedd, we proceed at the end of March with the 3nd Learning Teaching and Training Activity. We used zoom platform for all courses and training activities are based on Curricula 3 of mathematics, 3D printing and recycle.

Teachers of the three schools (from Greece, Italy and Portugal attended three online courses, one for each section.

The 3nd Training, Learning and Teaching Activity was completed successfully and the activity’s goals were realized. The courses proved to be very constructive and useful for the teachers and they got all the required knowledge.

2nd Learning Teaching and Training Activities

The 2nd Training, Learning and Teaching Activity for Teachers, had been scheduled to take place in Italy on March, but due to coronavirus wave was postponed

As we decided at the 2nd transnational online meeting to develop curricula 1 and 2 for all of the three disciplines during the karantedd, we proceed at the beginning of July with the 2nd Learning Teaching and Training Activity. We used zoom platform for all courses and training activities are based on Curricula 1 and 2 of mathematics, 3D printing and recycle.

Teachers of the three schools (from Greece, Italy and Portugal attended three online courses, one for each section.

1st Learning Teaching and Training Activities

On the 3rd to 6th of February 2020, the 1st learning, teaching and training activity of the project “3D-ReMath” was held in Chios, in the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean & in the 2nd Primary School of Chios.

The 1st learning, teaching and training activity was attended by representatives from all partners of the program, namely the research teams of the Quantitative Methods Laboratory, Waste Management Laboratory, Privacy Engineering and Social Informatics Laboratory of the University of the Aegean, school teachers of the 2nd Primary School of Chios, ISA13 Istituto Comprensivo Sarzana and Agrupamento de Escolas de Marrazes.

Teachers trained into 3D printing, maths and recycling procedure. All the activities were very well prepared by the university labs, covering the three main topics (themes) of the project. The methodology of the course was interactive and included both formal and informal education. Starting with a theoretical approach to the theme of each course and then proceeding to learning strategies, innovative practices in order to achieve the contribution from all the participants involved. The workshops method (learning by doing, problem based learning) were effective and motivating. The teachers gained new inspiration to apply digital technology specially 3D printing technology in the classroom in order to study math.

The activities enriched today’s teachers’ skills with a much updated competence to introduce and maintain innovation in their schools, specifically in the field of the 3D sketching and printing. The activity started with the presentation of the School’s facilities and the school activities. The LTT activity was divided into 3 disciplines, as follows: Discipline 1: Mathematics AEM presented the results of the field research study concerning mathematics difficulties as identified by the two groups of teachers and students. QMLab presented mathematical difficulties in o visualizing mathematical concepts o interpreting linguistic content o Geometry Discipline 2: 3D Printing. The contents of the presentations are as follows: o 3D Modeling – Design Software o Websites for designed 3D models o Components of a 3D printer o Websites for designed 3D models Discipline 3: Recycle. The contents of the presentations are as follows: o Environment and pollution o Waste management and recycling and the Teacher’s feedback and training. o Waste management in practice.
